I so LOVE photographing kids

You never know what you’re going to get.  And I love that each kid has their own personality.  And if you spend a few minutes with them, it will really come out.  And there’s nothing better than when you can capture that personality in their photographs.  One of my favorite things to do is to ask (the older kids) if they have any ideas for poses.  This really gets them involved and interested in the session and then I can show them how it turned out right after and it’s really truly amazing how happy they are to see how well their idea turned out.  And then of course they get so excited and want to keep going.

For this session, I photographed a little guy (directly below) that found some cookies and decided to claim them as his own.  He seemed to be pretty happy until he noticed he’d been caught:)

I photographed a little girl who had the most adorable unique laugh and was happy throughout the entire session.  I had to laugh – I thought she was crying when I first heard that giggle and started to worry and then I looked at her and saw she was cracking up which made me laugh that much harder.

I also photographed this gorgeous newborn who had these beautiful natural curls.  When I started photographing her she was sleeping soundly and then all of a sudden she woke up while my camera was just a mere inches from her face – probably would’ve frightened anyone but not her; in fact, seconds after she was smiling thanks to the handsome teenage boy pictured below who swore that he could get her smiling again as he did earlier.  He was right!

And speaking of that handsome boy, he had so many great ideas for his photos including some action shots which we were able to get w/the football.

And then there was this other little guy who was pretty shy and not sure about the camera at first but when he did warm up, started giving me profile shots:)

And last but in no way least was this absolutely beautiful young girl who has the most amazing eyes which really came through in the photos.  And she was probably one of the sweetest girls I’ve ever photographed.  A little shy at first but then when she got the hang of it was modeling and posing like no one’s business:)
